Would you love to change your life? Make it more exciting? More fulfilling? More worthwhile? If you're nodding your head right now then you’re certainly not alone.
I speak to people every single day who would if they could but, for any number of reasons, they tell me that they can’t! And how they’re stuck. Stuck not wanting to get out of bed in the morning. Stuck worrying about bills and responsibilities. Stuck in crappy situations. Unfulfilling relationships. Horrible jobs. Unhealthy bodies. And so on…
But, I don’t accept that. After all, I’m a life coach. And I know first-hand, as well as from helping my clients, that you never have to settle for what you have, if only you are prepared to go after what you truly want! You can indeed be happy, confident and hugely successful, in ways that are perfect for you, and you can start by following my three top steps to transform your life!
1. Take Responsibility
Be honest with yourself. If you are regularly making excuses about not having enough time, money, experience, qualifications, confidence and so on, then it’s time to get real. You have the exact same amount of time in the day as every other person on the planet. From the most desperate, to the most successful. The only difference is that some use their time wisely, and others don’t. And as for money, you can always get more money, you just need to be more creative and stop pretending that your weekly wage is the limit of your earning potential. Experience and qualifications are rarely a barrier, unless you choose to let them be, and confidence will never be yours if you’re constantly hiding away in your comfort zone. Confidence only comes as a result of pushing your limits and taking action! Actually, the reason you trot out all of these well-worn excuses is not because they are legitimate barriers at all. It is because you are scared. Scared of failing. Scared of looking like a fool. Scared of feeling stressed out. Scared of being rejected. Own your excuses (and your procrastination) for what they are. Admit that you’re scared. And decide to do it anyway. I don’t know anyone that died as a result of looking foolish. But I know plenty who are completely disillusioned with the life they’re living. And I bet you do too.
2. Stop Playing Small
So, now we know that you’re just making excuses, and that you can choose to stop at any moment, how do you learn to stop playing small? Well, it all starts with a dream. A dream, and a decision. So, consider what you really want your life to look like. Health, relationships, work, finances, personal development, hobbies, and so on. Imagine the dream life that YOU want. Not what other people want for you. And then… Put a date on it. A deadline. And make a promise to yourself to do whatever it takes to achieve it. No more futile excuses. No more running scared. Just a steadfast promise to yourself to live life on your terms. And, once you’ve made that promise, start planning from your end goal backwards, to make sure that it happens!
3. Make an Impact
Whatever your goals are, and however you plan on delivering them, the most important first step is to make an impact. Be it on yourself, or on others, because the sooner you make an impact, the sooner you’ll start to see results, and the sooner you start to see results, the easier it will be to gather momentum, and the easier it is to gather momentum, the quicker you will see bigger results, leading to more momentum, greater results, and much more rapid success. If you’re struggling with confidence, get out of your own head and focus on making an impact for other people. And remember to magnify that impact on youself by recognising every single achievement. Every step you take, that you wouldn’t have taken before. Every new skill, every new connection, every new milestone.
You have such incredible potential inside of you. You just have to find the courage to begin…
